To start of this blog there is one very important piece of information that one must know about me: I like to ramble. In fact, I have described myself as a babbling brook at multiple varying times of my past, and I suppose currently now as well seeing as I have just stated it. It’s just in my nature to let my thoughts wander and flow in such a way that at times I don’t even know where it started and so I tend to document it in words. But that’s me and I prefer it that way, so honestly a lot of time I don’t like to edit things (unless it’s necessary I do so for say a school assignment or something of that similar importance). I really do hope that by having a less structured presentation of my thoughts and ideas that people for one are still able to understand me, and for another intrigued by my views and how I present them. Maybe that’s just the artist in me. Which is a pretty good segue if I do say so myself (yes I thrive off of segues and tangents and couldn’t see things working out any other way). I am an artist and I am a lover of art. I’ve come to the conclusion throughout the years that all you need to do to be considered an artist (by yourself and/or others) is to simply decide by your own accord that you are an artist. Considering that I can’t see myself without creating some sort of art in my life it was a pretty easy decision to make. But basically I will more than likely be putting art as the foundation of my thoughts on this blog, which I think is something that should be embraced by all because no matter who you are, art is an enduring part of human existence. As for anything else you may be wondering about, well I assure you that you will find a response to those thoughts in due time.
Very interesting Kathryn! While I definitely support experimentation in the blog form (rambling as a rhetorical strategy), just make sure it's intelligible.
ReplyDeleteAlso, be sure your thoughts on art are also related to emerging media, since that is the topic of our class. You might be interested in the blog "wemakemoneynotart" (http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/) either as a model, or just an interesting read.
